By using indoorcalc.com.au ("the site", "we", "us") you agree to these terms. They're written in plain language, but they are still legally binding. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.

What the site is

indoorcalc.com.au is a free collection of calculators for indoor renovation and decorating projects. It's a reference tool only. We are not an interior designer, builder, tiler, painter, or licensed tradesperson.

Estimates, not advice

Every result on the site is an estimate. Calculators use simplified formulas based on average product coverage rates and typical installation practices. They can't account for every variable in your specific room — surface condition, substrate type, installer technique, product-brand differences, or waste.

Before placing a significant order, confirm your requirements with your paint, tile or flooring supplier. The site explicitly does not provide:

  • Building or structural advice
  • Interior design or colour advice
  • Legal, financial or tax advice
  • Advice specific to your property, substrate, or local building codes

Your responsibility

You're responsible for the decisions you make using information from the site. That includes:

  • Measuring your room accurately
  • Choosing appropriate products for your surface and conditions
  • Ordering enough material (we recommend adding a waste margin above calculated figures)
  • Following safe installation practices and manufacturer instructions
  • Complying with local council regulations, Australian Standards, and relevant building codes

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, indoorcalc.com.au, its operators, and any contributors are not liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense arising from your use of the site — including but not limited to over-ordering, under-ordering, product incompatibility, installation failure, or any consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any guarantee, warranty, right or remedy that you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Advertising and third-party content

The site displays advertising served by Google AdSense and its partners. We don't choose which specific advertisers appear and we don't endorse them. Clicking an ad takes you to a third-party site we don't control — their terms and privacy practices are their own.

Intellectual property

The design, layout, text content and calculator logic on this site are either owned by us or used with permission. You're welcome to use the site, share links to it, and refer to it. You're not welcome to copy the site wholesale, scrape content for a competing site, or republish our text as your own.

The results produced by a calculator when you enter your own measurements are yours to use however you like.

Changes to the site and these terms

Calculators may be added, updated, corrected or retired at any time. We may also update these terms. The "last updated" date at the top of this page tells you when the current version was posted. Continued use of the site after a change counts as acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute about the site is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
